As many of you know, last week I went to Target to pick up some limited item dresses from some fantastic designers. One of these dresses was from a favorite designer line of mine, Tucker, by NYC-based designer Gaby Basora, a former magazine editor and stylist (www.tuckerbygabybasora.com). I first discovered Tucker at my friend Lance’s trendy clothing boutique in Chicago several years ago. I just loved how spirited and whimsical her style was – the print was bodacious, bold, and definitely fun! I still treasure that classic piece, and even though it is years old, I still wear that blouse.
The Tucker clothing line started in 2005 from a single blouse. The next year, Barneys New York couldn’t keep those Tucker blouses in stock! 6 years later, the collection now includes dresses, coats, and lingerie. Stylish celebs like Cameron Diaz, Liv Tyler and Drew Barrymore are huge fans. According to her site, every signature print and every vintage-inspired silhouette she develops comes from Basora’s sense of the uncanny. That’s true – the prints are so alive and so expressive, unlike many other designer lines that are out there. One designer blog surmised the line perfectly: “Tucker is intelligent, spirited, ageless, universal, substantial, emotive.”
I’m so happy Tucker is part of the Target Go International collaborative, and I was able to have snagged one of my new spring dresses for a mere $39.99!
