I spent the weekend hanging out with very dear friends. It was practically summer-like in Southern California this past weekend, so I took full advantage, heading up to Venice, CA to meet up with my friends Paul and David and eating at this fabulous restaurant, Joe’s Restaurant, which was just darling and the food was delish. I had the best huevos rancheros I had eaten in a long time! Plus, it was so fun to visit the absolutely quaint and cool Venice. No wonder Julia Roberts and Danny Moder live there – it really exudes an eclectically chill vibe.
It was perfect timing as my friend Zachary Prell was in town in Los Angeles from New York City to show his Fall/Winter 2012 collection at the West Coast Trend Show. It was so exciting to see all his new apparel items, with the line expanding into so many more categories. Remember, when the line started it was just men’s sport shirts. Now, the ZACHARY PRELL collection includes sweaters, knits, pants, and outerwear, including gorgeous leather motorcycle jackets and a sumptuous nubuck coat. Best of all, swim is in the works!
I have posted a few photos of the beautiful swim trunks that will soon be available at a nearby Nordstrom or Saks Fifth Avenue, or a fantastic boutique such as Gary’s in Fashion Island, Newport Beach, CA. This is perfect for your guy who happens to be in the water more often than not (I say this because I feel that is definitely true of my surfer guy!) Or even if not, summer is right around the corner so get your guy to look amazing at the beach, too.

On a crazy side note, I was so excited to also see SeaVees at the West Coast Trend Show. I wrote about the line when it first crossed my radar last March, and I was thrilled to meet founders Derek and Steven in person and see their upcoming collection, too. I didn’t realize the cool shoe line is now at Bloomingdale’s and J.Crew! WOW!
