One of the best things about having a career in the beauty industry is that I know a lot of beautiful, smart, and business-savvy women who hook me up with the latest and greatest products.
I’ve received a bunch of fun new products (and I will definitely try to write about all of them), but I wanted to especially write about a “new-to-the-USA” skincare line, Elave, that I just learned about and now absolutely love.
Once sold exclusively through selected dermatology clinics in Ireland, this skincare range from Ireland has since developed a word of mouth reputation as the perfect solution for sensitive skin. This is especially important for those of us with extra sensitive, dry skin or any of us prone to eczema, dermatitis, rosacea and psoriasis.
Since many medical experts believe over-exposure to harsh products with hidden chemicals is linked to the rise in sensitive skin, Elave’s formulations are free from these chemicals (such as alcohol, lanolin, parabens, fragrance, and formaldehyde). Plus, all the product ingredients are selected to maximize the hydration of the skin and minimize the irritation of sensitive skin.
I’ve been using a few products from the Dermo-Cosmetic range:
– The Oil-Free Balancing Cleansing Gel
– The Daily Skin Defence with SPF 45
– Oil Free Skin Balancing Moisturiser
I just love that the formulas don’t contain harsh chemicals. It makes me feel really good (and safe!) about using the line. For example, both the Elave balancing cleansing gel and moisturizer contain pure active antibacterial Manuka Honey. Yes… honey! In the cleanser, the honey helps provide a deep cleansing treatment to remove daily residue, oil, make-up and impurities. It even looks and smells like honey! It’s fantastic to cleanse my skin with it; I feel one with the earth. In the moisturizer, the honey helps to restore the skin’s natural barrier.
But really, and more importantly, I just like how my skin feels re-balanced, soft and refreshed after using both.
Better yet, the products don’t cost a fortune like some of the more efficacious lines out there. The cleanser is $32. The Daily Defence with SPF is $34, and the moisturizer is $32. Quite reasonable.
